The Scottish post-rock band released their album Rave Tapes earlier this year. Now, the band is planning to release a new EP called Music Industry 3. Fitness Industry 1.
It is composed of three new songs taken from the sessions from their album the Rave Tapes. It also has three remixes.
The song called “Teenage Exorcists” will be the opener of this new EP. The beginning of the song is strange and brings to mind what a spell might sound like if it was being cast. And maybe there is in fact some kind of spell cast over the listener, for the song pulls you in and then before you know it, it’s suddenly over, making that same dizzying, spiraling sound as it leaves.
The repetitive tune is catchy, particularly the chorus. The voices are quiet and soft, drifting in and out of the song.
“I said nothing, I said too much,” is a good example of the lyrics that sometimes seem to go in circles.
About three quarters of the song, there is a musical break and the tune takes on a somewhat darker tone.
