Metallica and Dave Grohl are among the list of artists that will be performing for the Veterans Day Concert for Valor.
Metallica and Dave Grohl will be playing with a various mix of artists, such as, Rihanna, Bruce Springsteen, and Eminem to salute U.S. Veterans. The event will be held at the National Mall on November 11th and will be shown on HBO. The channel will let its affiliates broadcast the concert for those who are not subscribed, as stated on Loudwire.
The concert is the first-of-its-kind and is meant to honor veterans and their families for their courage and sacrifice. Starbucks and HBO partnered to achieve the concert to show veterans that their hardwork is appreciated and bring awareness to those who have a hard time returning to civilian life. They also widh to inspire the new generation to take action since about less than one percent of Americans serve in the military today, according to the Concert of Valor‘s website.
Special apperances from Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep will also be shown throughout the concert. Dave Grohl will perform and is sure to be an exciting set since Foo Fighters’ newest album, Sonic Highways, will release the day before this concert takes place.
Metallica, who released a statement about how honored they are to take place at a concert to honor veterans, will also be playing with a wide range of artists at Rock in Rio in May 2015.
The Concert of Valor will be shown live on HBO on November 11 at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
UPDATE (10/23): The Black Keys and Jessie J have recently been added to the Concert of Valor music lineup and will share the stage with the previously announced musicians.
