During last week’s Outkast Festival, Kid Cudi stormed off stage in the middle of his performance. According to MNE, “Kid Cudi wasn’t too happy with a disinterested crowd, but rather than take the opportunity to try and win over new fans, he sarcastically berated the attendees.”
Throughout the performance, Kid Cudi apparently made quite a few off hand comments to those in the crowd. Reports claim that he seemed to be in a bad mood from the very start of his performance. According to Spin, it is actually unclear what ultimately lead Kid Cudi to leave the stage.
“After starting the show by saying that he “[knew] who [the fans] came here to see tonight,” he later backhandedly thanked his “five fans” who were at the show. He also reportedly told the audience to “suck [his] dick.” Firsthand accounts suggest that Cudi cut off his David Guetta team-up “Memories” in favor of playing his hit “Pursuit of Happiness” and getting off the stage” reports Spin. He left the stage half an hour into his allotted hour time slot.
Kid Cudi’s performance was part of the Outkast reunion tour. This leg of the tour was in Atlanta (dubbed #ATLast). Despite the issues with Kid Cudi, the remainder of the show ran smoothly and fans were mostly in good spirits. Other performances included Childish Gambino and Raury.
Prior to this performance, Kid Cudi recently performed with Haim and MGMT at Coachella back in April. The full story about that performance can be found here. Further news and updates about Kid Cudi can be found on his official website.
