As part of BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, the British singer George Ezra performed a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 song “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”.
Ezra put a fresh twist on this originally upbeat and lively song. He starts the song by simply playing guitar and singing in a raw and captivating voice. Then the rest of the band comes in full, but playing in much softer tones than the original song. Ezra gets very into the song and really plays with it to make it his own, even including his name in one of the lyrics.
Ezra’s latest studio album Wanted on Voyage came out on June 30 of this year. The singer will be on tour through the UK this October.
