Electric Youth 11/4 @ GAMH

Electric Youth is a synthpop duo out of Toronto named after the Debbie Gibson 1989 album. It features vocalist Bronwyn Griffin and multi-instrumentalist (and producer) Austin Garrick, who have been a ‘couple’ since their early teens.

Most notably, Electric Youth have collaborated with David Grellier of College (who also happens to be coming to town) on the track A Real Hero, which was featured in 2011 film Drive. They are also part to Grellier’s Valerie collective of artists, which also features Minitel Rose, Outrunners, and Russ Chimes.

Electric Youth are signed to Last Gang Records, and are set to release their debut album Innerworld later this month. Their sound almost seems like it was ripped straight from the 80’s, and would fit right in alongside Nu Shooz, Tiffany, and of course, Debbie Gibson.

Check them out at the Great American Music Hall in November to be transported to an 80’s dance party! Don’t forget your legwarmers.
