iTunes Unveils Website To Remove U2’s Album From Unwanted Devices

U2’s latest album, Songs of Innocence popped into your iTunes library last week, like it or not. Here’s how to get rid of it.

More than 500 million users received the surprise album, and unsurprisingly, not everybody is thrilled. Songs of Innocence comes out physically on October 13, but the band and Apple decided to give fans the music beforehand for a limited time. Which is great if you love U2, but the free download was, in some cases, seen as a forced download of U2’s music (especially if, like me, you have automatic downloads for your iTunes music).

The band’s publicist called it “a gift from Apple. If someone doesn’t like the gift, they should delete it.” Which was easier said than done. Until now! Because of the backlash, Apple has now created a website where you can easily remove the album from your library and devices.
