Australian singer Vance Joy performed his song “Riptide” on Late Night with Seth Meyers.
Joy recently released his debut album Dream Your Life Away and its track “Riptide” has been the number one song at alternative radio in the U.S. for five weeks straight.
During the performance, Joy easily plays a light and repetitive, but sweet tune on his ukulele while he sings and three other musicians sing back up and play instruments. Joy has a high range and his voice is almost airy. He continually moves and shifts his feet in time with the music, clearly into the song.
The tune is catchy and Joy is somewhat endearing as he sings passionately about a special girl.
