Scottish band We Were Promised Jetpacks released a new official video, this week, for their song, “I Keep It Composed”. This new track is one of the singles off of the band’s upcoming third album, Unravelling.
The video narrative follows the lone survivor of a small plane crash. However, instead of zooming in for close up shots, in the beginning, this video chooses to show the entire scene around the survivor from above. It provides a unique perspective that sets the scene immediately. As the video progresses, there are the classic tight, medium, and wide shots, that follow the survivor, and focus on his struggle. In keeping with the lyrics, the survivor keeps his composure. The song, itself, could easily fit into a film soundtrack, because there are many challenging life situations where one has to “keep it composed”.
