British pop music classics, The Kinks, are reminding of themselves with a huge release! Celebrating 50th anniversary since their first Number One single, ‘You Really Got Me,’ dated September 10, 1964, Davies brothers are about to release a boxset called ‘The Anthology 1964-1971’ featuring over 100 remastered tracks from the band’s classic material, and rare demos, outtakes and alternate mixes. Add to this 25 previously unreleased tracks, exclusive interviews and 7-inch – all of this set for release on November 3.
Among the classic Kinks singles compiled in The Anthology 1964-1971, are ‘You Really Got Me,’ ‘All Day and All of the Night,’ ‘Waterloo Sunset,’ and ‘The Village Green Preservation Society.’ The set will also include previously unreleased editions of ‘Who’ll Be Next In Line,’ ‘Dedicated Follower of Fashion,’ and ‘Tell Me Now So I’ll Know.’
For delight of the fans, Kinks guitarist Ray Davies also revealed to Sunday Times that Davies brothers have patched up some of their disagreements (after not performing together since 1996), and may consider reunion and even composing new material in the future.
“We’ve…spoken a few times on the phone and emailed,” Ray Davies told the newspaper. “He’s been composing his own songs, but I’d really like to write with him again. We both agree we don’t want to do old stuff or tour with past hits. It’s got to be something new.”
