LISTEN: Smashing Pumpkins Release New Track “To Sheila (Early Banjo Version)”

As part of their upcoming deluxe reissue of 1998’s Adore album, Smashing Pumpkins have released a new version of another one of the tracks from the band’s fourth studio album. In addition to an alternate version of “Blessed and Gone” and a Diddy remix of “Ava Adore,” the band has released a banjo rendition of  “To Sheila” as a preview of the deluxe album’s upcoming September release. Listen to the song here.

The aptly named early banjo version of “To Sheila” winds slowly down the road of Billy Corgan’s sweet serenade to the calming banjo strum. The banjo twang contrasts Corgan’s vocals more harshly than the original version without sacrificing any intimacy or grace.

The beautiful rendition previews what we can expect from the album, which will feature fifty five unreleased bonus tracks, including outtakes, remixes and B-sides.
