Sleater-Kinney Announces Reissue of Their Entire Discography

It seems like Sleater-Kinney still has some unresolved issues concerning the band’s future. In a best sense of the word, of course.

The trio’s entire discography is being remastered and released in a limited edition box set called ‘Start Together’, out October 21 via Sub Pop. The box set will include all seven albums on colored vinyl, a 44-page hardcover book featuring rare band’s photos, and a limited art print. Pre-orders are ongoing through the label’s website, with only 3,000 copies available.

Being band’s first release since their 2005’s LP ‘The Woods’ and their first joint studio activity since their musical hiatus in 2006, let’s hope the reissue is a first step for a band’s reunion tour next year, with probable new recordings made in the foreseeable future.

Sleater-Kinney is a rock band, formed in Olympia, Washington in 1994. The band’s more successful lineup consisted of Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein, and Janet Weiss. After releasing seven studio albums, the band broke up after a final tour in summer 2006.

Since then, Brownstein and Weiss played together in Wild Flag, while Tucker embarked on solo career (with her ‘1,000 Years‘ and ‘Kill My Blues‘ LPs), as well as collaborating with R.E.M.’s guitarist Peter Buck and Nirvana’s bassist Krist Novocelic in super-Earth. Brownstein has also been successful as an actress and writer.

It’s good to know reuniting on stage with Pearl Jam inspired badass riot grrrls to ‘start together’ again.
