Giraffe Tongue Orchestra To Enter the Studio and Begin Recording

Back in 2011, four members of four different bands came together to form a new group, yet unnamed. The group, now named Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, is composed of The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, Mastodon vocalist and guitarist Brent Hinds, ex-Jane’s Addiction bassist Eric Avery and ex-The Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore.

2012 brought hope for an upcoming album from the supergroup with talks of finishing up their respective projects to come together in the studio. Two years later, the time has finally come.

In an interview with The Live Addiction last week, Weinman discussed forthcoming collaborations in the studio with producer Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Korn) in coming days. Wheels seem to have begun turning a few days ago as Weinman instagrammed a photo of he and Robinson with the caption, “Ross Robinson and I, single and ready to mingle. Well actually kinda busy making magic to tape.” Dillinger Escape Plan recently finished up their tour and Mastadon has a break in touring. It seems the stars have finally aligned for the Giraffe Tongue Orchestra.
