After a year of rollercoaster-like ups and downs, the science fiction, mythological beings of thrash metal known as GWAR have announced to Style Weekly the release of an artistically constructed, behind the scenes documentary with a nine minute trailer.
The band which lost its founding member Dave Brockie to heroin overdose, have found ways to rejuvenate their merch and marketing idea’s, have gone back out on tour to celebrate the life of their lost comrade, and now are blessing their fans with this upcoming documentary entitled “Let There Be GWAR.”
Although there is no release date for the Documentary, the uniquely stylized trailer showcases a collective of art school students, tired of being told that their creations weren’t art, so they band together to streamline a series of film and music ideas that would eventually become GWAR.
In a comic book looking, picture in picture, floating head interview, members of GWAR inspire by detailing their organized rebellion to what was considered popular art. They explain how when others like them would sit in coffee houses complaining, they lived behind a motto of “Don’t Talk About It, Do It.”
Now after 13 studio albums, 2 Grammy nominations, and 25 different band members, GWAR is ready to tell you their whole story.
