Ryan Adams’ punk EP 1984, which is completely sold out, is now available to listen to via a stream from a fan.
The 7-inch vinyl sold out, but according to Spin and Stereogum, one fan recorded the album for others to stream online. It was a very limited release and this is the only way for people to hear it, with the exception of those who got it before it sold out.
The album consists of 10 short tracks that consist of punk-inspired guitar and vocals, influenced strongly by The Replacements and similar groups. It’s different from Adams’ previous work as well as his recent single “Gimme Something Good.” In addition to this EP, he also produced Jenny Lewis’ new Voyager album and is prepping his forthcoming solo LP. Until that one is available, enjoy 1984.
