Circa Survive w Title Fight @ Best Buy Theater 11/11

When members of Saosin, This Day Forward and Taken banded together in 2004 they formed Circa Survive. Soasin’s Anthony Green initially played with This Day Forward’s Colin Frangicetto after leaving his band. Equal Vision Records backed their efforts and Brenden Ekstrom, also of This Day Forward, was added to the group. Nick Beard of Taken was brough aboard, having toured with Ekstrom and Frangicetto. Stephen Clifford was introduced to the budding band and Circa Survive was complete.

They released their first release was an EP, The Inuit Sessions, in 2005. It was followed later that year by Juturna, which was released off of Equal Vision. Their second record On Letting Go came out in 2007. It was followed up by the b-sides “1,000 Witnesses and “The Most Dangerous Criminals” both in 2008. The proceeds from two songs each benefits different charitable causes. The first went to Invisible Children and the latter to Siren Records.

The band switched to Atlantic Records for their next record and their third full-length Blue Sky Noise came out in 2010. That same year two Circa Survive EPs were released. The first, a Myspace Transmissions EP, was a series of live performances of Blue Sky Noise and a Nirvana cover. The second, Appendage, included five new tracks. The band’s fifth album Violent Waves was self-released in 2012 then again by Sumerian Records, who the band signed with in 2014.
