Drive Like Jehu Announces Free Reunion Show

In their first performance in twenty years, Drive Like Jehu have announced that they will play a free reunion show in their hometown, San Diego. The post-hardcore and alt-rock band was active for just five years in the early nineties, releasing two albums before disbanding in 1995.

Lead guitarist John Reis went on to pursue his other rock band, Rocket From The Crypt, who also reunited recently. Last year, Rocket From The Crypt surprised fans with a secret reunion show in San Diego before announcing spring 2014 international comeback tour.

The other Drive Like Jehu members have also been busy since their last hoorah in ’95. Guitarist Rick Froberg, along with Reis, went on to form Hot Snakes. Drummer Mark Trombino became a successful producer for the likes of Blink-182 and Jimmy Eat World while Mike Kennedy reportedly retired from music, until now. The free reunion show is set to take place August 31 at San Diego’s Balboa Park and will feature civic organist Dr. Carol Williams.
