Electric Wurms has made quite an entrance write the release of their debut album, Musik, Die Shwer Zu Twerk. Recently, the new band has released the song “Transform” from their album and did a cover of the Beatles’ “Fixing A Hole”.
The new album is set for release on August 19 via Warner Bros. Records. In regards to “Transform!!!”, Consequence of Sound described it as, “barrage of snarling guitars, Yoko Ono-inspired wailing vocals, and cannonade of drums, it’s the equivalent of strapping a rocket to your back and flying through a painting by H.R. Giger.” It seems that Electirc Wurms has succeeded in standing out from the Flaming Lips.
However, the two groups will still be collaborating as the members in each band overlaps. As a result, Electric Wurms did a cover of the Beatles’ “Fixing A Hole” for the Flaming Lips’ Sgt. Pepper’s tribute, With A Little Help from my Fwends.
Both songs can be viewed below. Additional news and updates about the Electric Wurms can be found at their website.
