The Black Keys have released a new music video for their song, “Weight of Love” from their album, Turn Blue.
The video for “Weight of Love” was directed by Theo Wenner, who had previously directed “Fever”, a funny televangelist inspired clip starring Lara Stone as a cult leader.
“Weight of Love”’s video features Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney preaching in the opening sequence, and also recurring through the video. However, the video focuses on a group of women that are part of a cult, and Stone resumes her role as their leader, once again.
Aesthetically, the video transitions between outdoor beach scenes with the cult women semi-clothed completing rituals, and indoor low light sequences that showcase the cult members’ daily lives. And, musically, the video starts out with a folk-rock inspired sound and morphs into an electric guitar driven power ballad by its conclusion.
