English indie rock band Alt-J from Leeds, England, has released a third single from their forthcoming second LP ‘This Is All Yours’, set for release on September, 22nd.
Following their previously released singles ‘Hunger Of The Pine’ and ‘Left Hand Free’, with music videos released for both songs (‘Hunger Of The Pine’ and ‘Left Hand Free’), ‘Every Other Freckle’ track is a logical successor and completely new beginning at the same time.
Untypical folk music resonating with a pinch of jungle and Indian motifs, monotonously mesmerizing vocals, pleasantly fuzzed bass section, with a little overuse of cowbell, ‘Every Other Freckle’ isn’t quite a catchy thing, but more of a journey into the wild. Sounding more like complex folk-sounding Everything Everything and spreading the chaos throughout the whole thing, Alt-J’s new music seems to have neither beginning nor any ending, giving a vast space for the imagination.
