Hot Chip Release Cover of Arthur Russell’s “Go Bang”

As part of their tribute album to the late Arthur Russell, the Red Hot Organization has released Hot Chip’s reinterpretation of Russell’s “Go Bang.” The entire tribute collection will be released by Yep Roc on October 21. The project is being compiled by Red Hot, an organization dedicated to fighting AIDS through pop culture. The British electronic five some honors Dinosaur L, aka Arthur Russell, who died of AIDS in 1992.

Hot Chip

Following Sufjan Stevens’ cover of “A Little Lost,” this Hot Chip take on the disco jam serves up a delightfully groovy eleven- minute reimagining. Full of pops and twangs, Dinasaur L would surely have enjoyed getting down with Hot Chip’s rendition.

The tribute album will also feature Robyn, Blood Orange, Jose Gonzalez, Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry, Scissor Sisters, Phosphorescent, Thao & the Get Down Stay Down, Colin Steson, Lonnie Holley, Sam Amidon, and many more.
