The track “A Simple Design” is the result of a collaboration between producer Juan MacLean and singer Nancy Whang, known collectively as The Juan MacLean.
The duo works together to create electro-pop dance music by playing with arrangements, melodies and lyrics. “A Simple Design” appears on their third album, In A Dream, which is out September 16 via DFA Records. MacLean describes it as “a song about being stuck, paralyzed and unable to move forward, the sort of self-imposed distress that causes you to take five years to make a new album.”
The Juan MacLean will be touring the US and Europe in August and September in support of the new album, which also happens to be the group’s first in five years. See below for full tour dates and locations.
