Morrissey no longer has a record label. Since Harvest Records let him go in August, he may have already begun another search for a place that will help him launch and keep his music career going.
Three weeks after Morrissey released his 10th studio album World Peace Is None Of Your Business, Harvest Records dropped him from its artist roster, according to Billboard. Chairman of Capital Records Group Steve Barnett made the decision to have Morrissey leave the major record label.
In a recent statement, Morrissey expressed his discontent toward the record label for not promoting his new album with television invitations and music videos, while praising fans for their home-made efforts to share to the world his vision for the song “World Peace Is None Of Your Business.” According to Moz fan site True to You, he states, “I am indebted to three sources that have placed their own well-crafted videos on You Tube for the song World peace is none of your business.”
After reading the entire post, he seems to send a message of distaste for the lack of effort from a major recording label to invite him places to discuss and perform songs from the new album. Morrissey says, “A similar document ought to have been harvested by the record label, but please understand that the pop or rock industry can be as dedicated to perpetuating public deception as the world of politics itself. God bless social media!”
It appears that the decision has been determined and authorized by an official of Harvest Records. Morrissey could now be out there somewhere searching for another record label to sign him.
