German band Can will be reissuing 14 catalog albums on individual vinyl, with the first four becoming available on September 2. The albums have been unavailable on vinyl for over a decade.
The four albums that will be reissued on September 2 are Monster Movie, Tago Mago, Soundtracks, and Ege Bamyasi. The next five – Future Days, Soon Over Babaluma, Landed, Flow Motion and Saw Delight – will be available on October 7. The third round of vinyl reissues will include Can, Delay, Out Of Reach, Rite Time and Unlimited Edition on October 21. On November 4 they will release The Lost Tapes as five individual vinyl albums, though they were previously only available as a box set.
Can was an experimental, avant=garde rock band at the forefront of the krautrock movement in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their influence can still be heard today in the music of Portishead, Kanye West, Mogwai, Radiohead and more. Can’s track “Serpentine,” from the Out of Reach album, is now available digitally for the first time – listen to it below.
