Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, has announced that she will be acting as bandleader for the Late Night with Seth Meyers show two nights this August. Filling in for house bandleader Fred Armisen on August 11 and 12, St. Vincent continues her streak of stellar live guest spots in recent months.
She appeared aside Armisen in a recurrent guest spot on IFC’s Portlandia earlier this spring and will command the Late Night stage, swooping the baton from Armisen and taking the bandleader spot. Earlier this month, the entertainer appeared on The Tonight Show with David Letterman for a live performance following an successful SNL stint in May.
In addition to popping up on talk shows and sitcoms across American television, St. Vincent has supported her self-titled fifth studio album released in February with a spring tour. In an homage to Kurt Cobain, St. Vincent covered Nirvana’s “Lithium” on the twentieth anniversary of his death, a highlight of the tour. The tribute foreshadowed an epic live performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of the four frontwomen for Nirvana.
Adding this Late Night appearance to the list, the unbelievably versatile St.Vincent propels forward, searing her image and sound into our brains through every portal before joining The Black Keys on the road this fall.
