Meltasia Festival in Lafayette, Georgia, has announced its 2014 lineup, including acts like The Black Lips and Cherie Currie of The Runaways.
The festival takes place on September 5-7 this year, against the backdrop of Cherokee Farms in Lafayette. More than 70 artists are scheduled to play at the fest, which began in 2009 as a birthday party for Andy Animal of Stalkers. Back then, it was called “Andy Animal’s Countrytime Meltdown Birthday Funabration Weekender 3-D” and was held in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. It has since grown into a full-blown festival, hence the move to the 270 acres of Cherokee Farms, about 90 minutes outside of Atlanta.
2014 Meltasia headliners include Atlanta’s own The Black Lips, Nik Turner’s Hawkwind, Danava, Cherie Currie of The Runaways, Shannon & the Clams, Quintron & Miss Pussy Cat and Black Oak Arkansas. Three-day passes are $125, a pass for just Saturday and Sunday is $100 and a solo pass for Sunday is $80. See below for the full lineup.
