Radiohead’s lead guitarist and keyboardist, Jonny Greenwood, has announced that the piece of music titled “Water,” which he collaborated on recently with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, will premiere on October 2 in Dublin.
The ACO, a string orchestra comprised of Australian and international musicians, is touring Europe and Australia in the fall. “Water” will be performed in London on October 4, in Birmingham on October 5 and in Melbourne on October 26. Currently, no plans to record the performances have been made. Strings, the piano and a South Asian instrument called the tambura come together to create the song “Water.”
Greenwood has a background in musical composition. He previously composed the soundtracks for many films such as Bodysong, There Will Be Blood, Norwegian Wood, We Need To Talk About Kevin and The Master. Greenwood has mentioned Radiohead getting together in September and starting to record new material. He also recently debuted song “Skip Loop” which he composed.
