Philm has announced that their long awaited second studio album, Fire From The Evening Sun, will be released this September on their new label, UDR Music. And, Philm has plans to hit the road in support of the album this fall.
“UDR is honored to be working with PHILM. This partnership seems very instinctual,” said UDR Music’s head of A&R/Marketing Jay Lansford, in a press release. He describedFire From The Evening Sun as, “Powerful, intense… urgent. These three prolific musicians have created something that is refreshingly not mundane, but ear-shattering and groundbreaking.”
Philm brings together the talents of drummer Dave Lombardo, guitarist and singer Gerry Nestler, and bassist Pancho Tomaselli.
In a press release, Lombardo said that this new album lead by the title track will mark a change in the band’s musical journey. “It is again produced by me, but mastered and mixed by a couple of musical giants… Tyler Bates and Robert Carranza,” Lombardo said. In the same release, he elaborated that he believes “this album has a daring, callous temperament about it that really sums up our mindset right now. No improvising, no fluff. It’s heavy and in your face from start to finish.”
