Henry Steinway, known by his stage name RL Grime, is an American producer of hip hop, tap, and bass music. RL Grime has produced remixes for Benny Benassi, Cheif Keef, Jamie Lidell, and Shlohmo. RL Grime also collaborated with producer Baauer on the track “Infinite Daps” in 2013. They toured together throughout July of last year with support acts Ryan Hemsworth and Jim-E Stack.
RL Grime is a part of Los Angeles’ electronic music collective WeDidIt. His debut EP Grapes, was released in April of 2012 on WeDidIt. His follow up EP, High Beams, was released in July 2013 on Fool’s Gold Records. The EP debuted at number eight on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart. It also landed number one on the iTunes Electronic Chart. His newest single is “Core,” which can be watched below.
RL Grime teamed up with producer Salva for a remix of Kanye West’s “Mercy,” which has received over three million plays on SoundCloud. The Fader called the song “massive, as if hail and tsunami waves were both byproducts of bass.” In 2012, RL Grim was tapped for an official remix of Benny Banassi’s notorious song “Satisfaction,” which gained over one million SoundCloud streams, and charted in the top five on the Beatport Electro House chart.
