Dannay Brown claims that he has worked on new songs with The Avalanches for their sophomore album. In addition to him, there are also reports that the group has worked with Ariel Pink and Royal Trux’s Jennifer Herrema.
In an interview with Triple J, Brown revealed the he teamed up with the Avalanches for two tracks. Brown said, ““[“Frank Sinatra”] was cool, but the one we did after that… I swear, if we put that out, it’ll change the world,” he added. “I heard it that first night [after recording it], and that was the only time I heard it. I wanna hear it again! I know for a fact I put my foot into that song. When I work on something that hard I really like to receive the benefits from it so I can’t wait until the Avalanches release their next project!”
Fans of The Avalanches are hoping the news is true, as the band has not released another album following the debut album for 14 years now. For about the last four years there has been talks and rumors on and off on whether or not the group would release another album. So far the group has released of cover of Judy Garland’s “Get Happy” and a remix of Hunters & Collectors’ “Talking to A Stranger” in recent years.
