Alright, so we know that anything that promises a video from Pornographers, old or new, is a bit of a risky click. Bear with us, this one’s worth it. And completely safe for work – promise.
No porn. Just a couple of Canada’s finest out for a stroll, city streets, and violent yuppie mayhem. Guess that’s one way to drum up interest in an album. Brill Bruisers, the band’s sixth studio album and the first we’ve heard from them in a few years, is due out this August.
“War On The East Coast” is one of the first real tastes of the upcoming album we’ve gotten. Frontman AC Newton said the video was meant to have “some mid nineties second tier brit pop attitude”. It absolutely does, and so does the song. Give it as listen for a bit of Oasis nostalgia. It’s a gorgeous, snarky, droning piece of pop. Sunglasses and rioting are both just part of the package.
