The Downtown Festival Cleveland has announced their lineup for this year’s event, which will take place in multiple venues in Cleveland on September 19 and September 20. The War on Drugs, Justin Townes Earle, RJD2, and Crash (from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) will be among the many talented musicians playing at the event.
Music-lovers will be able to see the Cleveland show unfold at three venues: House of Blues, Grog Shop, and Beachland Ballroom.
According to Downtown Events, the goal is to mash together national artists who are well known with those who are currently emerging. The settings are intimate and the prices affordable.
In celebration of Downtown Record’s 5th Anniversary in 2011, the Downtown Festival featured artists from multiple genres, including Santigold, Major Lazer, Miike Snow, A-Trak, and White Denim. The event was held at New York’s Webster Hall and Terminal 5.
In 2013, Downtown Festival threw another musical celebration in New York, this time in eight venues, with performances from Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Purity Ring, Earl Sweartshirt, Ab-Soul, Sky Ferreira, DIIV, Trash Talk and more.
The Downtown Festival Cleveland will be the first of five Downtown Festivals in 2014. Minneapolis, New York, Los Angeles, and Houston will all host a Downtown Festival this year. The details for these festivals will be released in the coming weeks.
