NEW MUSIC ALERT: The Bug Releases Two New Tracks “Void” and “Function”

London-based artist The Bug has released two new tracks off his first new album in six years, the forthcoming Angels & Devils due out August 29th on Ninja Tune. In a highly anticipated comeback, Kevin Martin, alias The Bug, succeeds his crucial 2008 album London Zoo with Angels & Devils, his evolution aptly explained in a press release which states, “Having laid waste to earthly domains, where next but to tackle above and below.”

The duality theme of the album is captured in two new tracks packaged together. Liz Harris (of Grouper) supplies the angelic half in heady/ heavy dubbed vocals for “Void” while “Function” featuring Roll Deep’s Manga serves up the devilish half with a grime/ raga bass beat. The tracks are emblematic of the colliding dualities of the album which[according to the press release] “serves to continue his mission to pull together the fringes of all outsider music into a common voice.”
