MewithoutYou began as a side project between brothers Aaron and Michael Weiss. The two had been playing in the band The Operation when they started a new band, adding Richard Mazzotta and Ray Taddeo to the mix. Chris Kleinberg joined shortly thereafter. In 2001 I Never Said That I Was Brave, their first EP, was released and the band signed to Tooth & Nail Records. Around this time, Ray Taddeo was replaced by Daniel Pishock and in 2002 the band released their debut [A→B] Life. Two years later, mewithoutYou released Catch us For the Foxes and Greg Jehanian replaced Pishock. The album was produced by Brad Wood, who also produced their next album Brother, Sister, which was released in 2006. The following year Kleinberg left the band and in 2008 the band began work on their next record It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All a Dream! It’s Alright. Brandon Beaver was added to the band when they went back into the studio in 2011. mewithoutYou had then reached their now current line up of Aaron Weiss (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, accordion, trumpet, keyboards, percussion), Michael Weiss (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Rickie Mazzotta (drums), Greg Jehanian (bass guitar, vocals) and Brandon Beaver (guitar). Together they recorded Ten Stories, the band’s fifth studio album, in 2012. In June of 2014, the band embarked on a US tour to mark the tenth anniversary of Catch for us the Foxes.
