Anamanaguchi has released an infectiously happy electronic-pop dance track titled, “Pop It”. This track follows their 2013 lp Endless Fantasy, and is the first official release on Anamanaguchi‘s own label, dream.hax.
“Pop It” is significant in that it uses modern vernacular in its the chorus, with lyrics: “I dunno. . .IDK”. And while, this linguistic choice isn’t particularly new in music – it’s groundbreaking for the group marking the first track where they have embraced so-called ‘text speak’.
“Pop It”’s eternal optimism seems to embody the carefree feelings of summer, and the band picked the perfect time to release the song as a free download with the summer solstice just around the corner.
And after listening to it, I think it goes without saying that “Pop It” has the potential to become a melodic ear-worm. What do you think?
