Rapper-with-a-side-of-trance Kitty (formerly Kitty Pryde) just released her EP impatiens, but she’s already back with “Marijuana” a stoner-chic B-side that’s glittering, summery, and just in time for a mid-June pick-me-up.
Kitty may only be 21, but she’s been writing and producing her own music since high school, and once her “Okay Cupid” music video went viral in 2012, she acquired significant place in the indie-rap genre. Her recent accomplishments include a collaboration with Riff Raff, the release of two EPs, a tour with Danny Brown, and several homemade music videos that solidified her dreamy, winkingly goth aesthetic. And on last month’s release impatiens, her growth as an artist is undeniable.
Kitty will be on the road soon, accompanied, of course, by her fellow felines in Kitten.
