Vocalist Anthony “Civ” Civarelli, guitarist Walter Schreifels, bassist Arthur Smilios, guitarist Alex Brown and drummer Luke Abbey make up hardcore punk outfit Gorilla Biscuits. The New York-based band signed to Revelation Records in the late 1980s, releasing Gorilla Biscuits in 1988. Following the EP, the band toured and released the full length Start Today. Although the band began work on another album, the band broke up shortly after.
Members of Gorilla Biscuits have gone on to form and play in bands suchnas CIV, Quicksand, Judge and Warzone. Gorilla Biscuits has since reunited several times, including once for a Warzone benefit show is 1997 and twice for CBGB benefit shows in 2005 and 2006. In 2007, the band reunited for a European tour. They also played Webster Hall’s Black N Blue Bowl in 2011 and The Glasshouse’s EPIC Revelation Records 25 Year Anniversary shows in 2012.
The show is part of Vans House Parties, a free concert series hosted by FYF. Attendees required to RSVP for the concert on the Van’s website. Two tickets can be reserved per person. Attendance is first come first serve based on venue capacity, RSVP’ing DOES NOT guarantee entry.
