In September 2014, Warp Records turns 25 years-old! In honor of their anniversary, Warp will be in Kraków, Poland and will be holding events in conjunction with Kraków’s Sacrum Profanum Festival. Warp25, a special music event & party commemorating the anniversary, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 20th, at the Forum Hotel in Kraków.
Warp25 features performances by (in alphabetical order): Autechre, Battles, Bibio – a dj, Darkstar, Hudson Mohawke, LFO, Patten, Plaid – also djs, and Rustie.
The week of incredible music will kick off on Sept. 14th, 2014, with a performance by Squarepusher that features the Sinfonietta Cracovia, one of Europe’s most distinguished chamber music ensembles. And later in that week, the London Sinfonietta (feat. Mira Calix) will perform ‘Warp Works and 20th Century Masters’, their acclaimed series featuring interpretations of music by Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Gyorgy Ligeti, and Steve Reich, just to name a few.
In 2009, Warp commemorated its 20th anniversary by releasing an essential art object boxed-set, and embarked on a series of international dates which featured live performances by Broadcast, Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus, Chris Cunningham, and more.
And now, 25 years on, it only seems right to reflect on Warp’s legacy of groundbreaking art and music, while celebrating the possibilities and looking ahead to the future. Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 16th, 2014 at 10 a.m. CET [9 a.m. GMT].
