Attention metalheads and aspirants: the band that Rolling Stone called “the greatest metal band of their generation” have released the music video for “High Road,” the lead single off their upcoming album Once More ‘Round the Sun. Fans of Mastodon as well as fans of Live Action Role Players (LARPers) will enjoy this one, since the video prominently features both.

Actually, LARPing references aside, Mastodon seem to have a penchant for making their music technologically relevant: they’ll be accepting bitcoin as payment for Once More ‘Round the Sun (to be released June 24th). This follows 50 Cent’s announcement of the same new payment option last week — no need for us to make any 50 Cent/currency jokes, since you already made them in your head.
Just a few days ago, the band released “Chimes at Midnight,” another teaser track from the upcoming album. Once More ‘Round the Sun will be Mastodon’s first album since 2011.
