It seems like The 1975 have been touring non-stop. The band just wrapped a spring tour of the US with their performance at GovBall. Next up they’ll be touring much of Europe, with several festival stops along the way. They’ll also hit spots in Asia and Australia this summer before heading out on a UK tour in September. The 1975 will then kick off their next North American in November with a few stops in Canada before heading to the states a few days later. Their first stop is in Detroit, and the boys will arrive in Philly towards the end of their tour. They’ll hit the stage at The Tower on December 3rd! Get your tickets now as this is sure to be a very popular event!
While they’re out on the road, The 1975 will be busy working on new material for their second album. The band’s frontman Matty Healy says of the writing process, “Everything is being accumulated until we stop touring in February and then we’ll start making a record.” Aside from that, he’s been pretty quiet on the actual details of the record. They band had previously stated that they hoped to release the album in September of next year. That may seem like a long time to wait, so meanwhile fans of the band will have to continue listening to the boys’ debut album.
That album has seen a ton of success since it was released in September of 2013. With singles like “The City,” “Chocolate,” and “Girls,” The 1975 have steadily been playing on the radio since the release of the album. A success both at home and abroad, their debut self-titled album started out at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. Their Philly shows have historically sold out, so act fast – and get those tickets now!
