“Rise Against has always been a political band, but also a personal band,” said co-founder Tim McIlrath in a press release. This album will focus on the cost of self-awareness. “We’ve always had songs that have a foot in both worlds. This album is a lot more introspective to me,” he said.

The first single, “I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore”, illustrates this point. It is described as being intensely melodic, and speaks to two universal themes: entrapment and escape.

“I Don’t Want To Be Here Anymore” is set to drop on Tuesday June 10th. And, it will be available as a digital download and as a stream through digital subscription services.

Over the course of the last 15 years, Rise Against have gone onto become one of the most successful, challenged, and revered punk rock bands. Globally, their last four releases have sold over four million albums. Their 2011 album, Endgame, debuted at number one in Germany and Canada, and at number two in the U.S. on the Billboard album charts.

In support of The Black Market, Rise Against have announced several new shows, including: all three cities – Chicago, Denver, and Toronto – for Riot Fest. Then, the band will be in Los Angeles for the Made In America Festival. And, these festivals aren’t the only shows that the band is doing, Rise Against will be releasing more dates soon.
