After five years on pause, alt-rockers Tomahawk brought us their 2013 album Oddfellows. Then, in May, they released two Oddfellows b-sides — “M.E.A.T.” and “Curtain Call” on a limited edition seven-inch. Finally, today, those tracks are available digitally.
After its January 2013 release, Oddfellows landed at #2 on Billboard’s hard music chart and #9 on the indie chart. In 2012, guitarist Duane Denison described the album to the Nashville Scene:
Some of this album [“Oddfellows”] is, to me, fairly straightforward hard rock, and then some of it is … I don’t know what you’d call it — avant-pop or something? If anything, I think the album is a bit hookier and has bigger choruses than anything we’ve done.
