The latest Red Bull Sound Select show happened at The Roxy this week featuring Holy Fuck, James Supercave and Wunder Wunder. To create a visually interesting show with the standard electronica stage setup, where each band member is half hidden from the audience by their instruments and gear, can be difficult. But headliner Holy Fuck managed to bring an excess of energy and movement to the stage despite all that. The Canadian band mixed in a handful of new songs for this somewhat rare West Coast appearance. Both of the LA-based opening bands had the crowd on their feet, starting with Wunder Wunder who got the smallish crowd that slowly grew throughout their set moving with to their retro psychedelic pop sound. James Supercave kept it going with sultry pop songs from their March debut EP The Afternoon.
