Two of electronic music’s most decorated veterans are set to ride again. Brian Eno and Karl Hyde have announced their second collaborative album, High Life, and have set a July release date. Details and new song below.
Take a spin through modern music and you’ll find Brian Eno’s name popping up over and over again. It graces liner notes, credits, and covers alike, and generally indicates that something interesting awaits. Eno had his major musical start with Roxy Music, one of the mammoths of the 70’s glam scene. He’s gone on to become an enormously influential producer and pioneer, working with David Bowie, Philip Glass, U2, and many, many more.
Hyde is as good a copilot as you could ask for. Best known for his work with the hugely successful British electronic group Underground, Hyde’s innovative guitar work and characteristic vocals have long since earned him a reputation as one of the electronic scene’s best and brightest.
And if there were ever a reason to get excited for High Life, it’s Someday World, the first album the duo released. It came out just a few months ago and, surprise surprise, it was incredible.
