Way Over Yonder – the west-coast version of The Newport Folk Festival – will be back to the Santa Monica pier for the second year in a row; 13 hours of music, food, drinks and the beach, what else could you ask for?
Founded in 1959 by famed festival producer George Wein and folk icon Pete Seeger, one of the oldest and most acclaimed music festivals in the U.S. makes the leap once again to delight SoCal attendees with an amazing Lineup. Last year was the debut of The Over Yonder Festival in cali’s ground and featured acts by Conor Oberst, Neko Case, Brett Dennen, First Aid Kit among others.
Needless to say the 2-day party was a success and so, organizers are packing up and heading west once again. Martin Fleischmann of ‘Way Over Yonder’ partner ‘Rum & Humble’ says:
We’re thrilled to keep the Newport Folk tradition going, with a California spin to it. This year is going to build upon the foundation we’ve laid for a truly spectacular boutique festival.
Music aside, the festival will count with a carefully curated assortment of food and beverage vendors, plus a sod seating area. Tickets go on sale to the general public June 4 at 10am PST via Ticketfly.com and will start at $35 for a single day admission pass.
