Australian singer Iggy Azalea has accomplished a lot of success in recent times. Out of her debut album The New Classic she has managed to occupy both No.1 and No. 2 positions in Billboards Hot 100 chart; a stunt only done before by The Beatles.
“Fancy” and “Problem” are the titles of both the singles that have taken Azalea from world stardom to achieving success only the Liverpool quartet has experienced. These two songs (with features of Charli XCX and Ariana Grande respectively), are without a doubt, 2014’s summer songs – just as much as Pharrell did last year with “Get Lucky” (Daft Punk) and “Blurred Lines” (Robin Thicke). Back in 1964 The Beatles were the only band ever to have reached those positions with a debut record with their songs “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “She Loves You”.
Let’s get some perspective here, there are only a handful of musicians that have managed to get more than one song among the top spots of the Billboard chart; Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Akon and the aforementioned Pharrell, Mariah Carey and Ashanti (the only other women to achieve the top two chart positions). Now, to get to music olympus with a DEBUT record, well that’s quite the accomplishment.

Just as a bonus fact, The Beatles still hold the record for more singles in the top positions, in 1964 the legendary band occupied the top five spots of the chart.
