It’s been a big weekend for Kanye West. On Saturday night, the Grammy-award winning hit artist married Kim Kardashian in Florence. But his wedding didn’t stop him from releasing some new music. His new song “God Level” made its debut in an Adidas world cup commercial this weekend.
The commercial is a high-energy minute and 15 seconds mashup of fans cheering as a team races to score a goal at a soccer game, with of course, a heavy emphasis on the shoes. Kanye’s voice is loud over the action, rapping the words to what seems to be his newest track, “God Level.” The full version hasn’t been released publicly yet, and there’s no word if the song will appear on his next studio album, which he has said he hopes to release sometime later this year. The song was previously circulating around the net, but seems to have been taken down, without information on when it might be available again. West’s camp may be trying to avoid a smaller repeat of the leak of his last album, Yeezus, which was leaked online four days before its official release.
It’s been almost a year since the release of Yeezus, but fans are still talking about it. Topping the Billboard charts and hit lists around the world, it was certified gold by the RIAA, and later platinum. It also made the number one album on numerous publications and music sites last year. And West also has a busy summer ahead of him. He’s scheduled to play Bonnaroo next month, the Outside Lands Festival in August, and the Budweiser Made in America Festival in Philadelphia later this year. You can watch the commerical featuring “God Level,” below.
