The Kills Announce Summer 2014 Tour Dates

Indie rock duo The Kills are planning to make the rounds with a tour this summer that includes a few big festivals. Although they haven’t released an album since 2011’s Blood Pressures, the band is hard at work on a fifth album and ready to get back on tour.

Jamie Hince and Alison Mosshart have achieved widespread critical success for each of their four albums, but they’ve taken a little time off to pursue some of their other interests. Hince is also a photographer and has been working on an exhibit that will be available to the public next month in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. Meanwhile, Mosshart has been working on a visual art project as part of “Push It,” a group show made up of 21 people and dedicated to female artists. Even though they’ve been pursuing a different kind of art, we could soon see new material from the 14-year-old band. Their fifth album is currently in production.

The Kills have been a beacon of punk rock and blues ever since they came on the scene in 2000. Although their first two albums were received well, the second two albums put them on a map, after music from Midnight Boom and Blood Pressures was featured in a number of hit television shows, including “House,” “The Good Wife,” and “The Vampire Diaries.” Hince and Mosshart say the upcoming tour will especially feature lots of tracks from Blood Pressures.
