Providence based alt-rockers Deer Tick have announced an exciting set of confirmed tour dates fo this summer.
John McCauley and the Deer Tick trio have been working hard since the 2013 release of their fifth full length studio album, Negativity. Based in Providence, Rhode Island, the band’s followup to the 2011 acclaimed Divine Providence, has proven the most honest and personal work thus far. Negativity was recorded in Portland, Oregon with the help of producer Steve Berlin of The Blasters, Los Lobos, and McCauley’s side project Diamond Rugs. McCauley’s personal difficulties regarding his father’s prison sentence and the annulment of his wedding engagement, fueled the raw power we see in their latest album, and slapped on several years of maturity to their characteristically free-flowing sound.
Since Negativity, Deer Tick have announced that they will be embarking on a summer tour, all dates listed below. They will be going through the United States and Canada, stopping at Newport Folk Festival, Outside Lands, Ottowa Blues Fest, and more. The band had already confirmed East Coast dates with support from Langhorne Slim, and have added major markets in August in the West and Midwest with supporters Nathaniel Rateliff and The Weeks.
