When Montreal based indie rock band Arcade Fire hasn’t been taking shots at Deadmau5 or performing at Coachella they have been hitting the studio. The single “We Exist” from their latest release Reflector has been put to images.
The music video is a clear-eyed look at gender identity issues seen through the lens of a troubled and tormented minor. “We Exist” was described by Win Butler as “about a gay kid talking to his dad,” and in the process coming out to his father. Butler introduced it during recent live performances while proclaiming, “The right to marry anyone you want is a human rights issue.”
