The gloomy dark project of Glenn Danzig is on it’s feet again and Riot Fest Chicago will be the framework for this comeback.

Riot Fest this year keeps stepping up. The iconic punk-rocker Glenn Danzig will perform as Samhain, the transitional project between his departure from Misfits and the creation of Danzig; actually the later came from Samhain, as evidenced on Danizg’s official site declaration:

We can confirm that DANZIG has accepted an invitation to perform as his Classic SAMHAIN at Riot Fest in Chicago this September. More as we get it…Stay Tuned!!!

The reunion comes as part of what Riot’s organizers call 10 Years. 10 Essential Albums a project on which la créme de la créme of alternative/punk bands will interpret their most iconic albums. Samhain will perform Initium in full at Riot Fest Chicago 2014 alongside an amazing line up.

What is not clear yet is who will conform the line up for the new Samhain, specially if current country singer and original band member of ‘Danzig’ and ‘Samhain’ Eerie Von will participate in this reunion. Ex-Misfit Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein will likely be on stage as he has performed with Danizg more recently (check out the 25th Anniversary of Danzig concert last year) but for all we know the summoned players for this comeback is still unknown
